Build a live portfolio site.
Learn how to guide AI.
All in one session.

Build a live portfolio that gives colleges, recruiters, and internship contacts something concrete to see. You will learn the basics of AI-assisted development: briefing an AI coding assistant, improving generated code, and publishing a working site. No coding experience needed.

Your Project
Have another idea? Bring it.
A live portfolio site is the default first build because it gives you something useful to share. If you have a project in mind, mention it when you reserve. We will decide whether it fits, then shape the session around a realistic first version you can build in one guided session.
  • An app or tool you would actually use
  • A site for a club, team, or class project
  • A personal project you keep thinking about
  • Something you saw and wanted to try building yourself

Some ideas may need to be simplified. The goal is a strong first version, not a finished product.

What you leave with

Skills you can use, not just talk about.

Not theory. Not a certificate. Five practical skills you learn by building something live, not by watching one more tutorial.

Foundation
Prompt Engineering

Learn how to brief AI clearly: what you want, what matters, what to avoid, and what good should look like. Strong output starts with clear direction, and this is the part most people skip.

Judgment
Code Literacy

Learn how to understand the code AI creates, spot problems, and ask better questions when something feels off. You do not need to memorize syntax. You need to know how to judge what was built.

The big picture
Full Cycle Development

See how a project moves from an idea to a live website by doing it once, with guidance. You walk through the full workflow: planning the build, working with AI to generate code, reviewing what changed, saving the project in GitHub, deploying it, and ending with a public URL you can share.

Mindset
Product Thinking

Learn how to decide what the project should do, what to cut, what matters most, and what “done” looks like. AI can generate code, but you still make the decisions that shape the final result.

The meta-skill
AI Collaboration

Learn how to direct AI through a real build: reviewing its output, checking whether the code matches the goal, asking for explanations, and pushing back when the solution is wrong or overbuilt. You are not just using AI. You are learning how to guide the work.

Code Management
Create your own account and first repository, so your project has a proper home. Every change is tracked, versioned, and recoverable.
Free · you create your account
AI Coding Assistant
An AI coding assistant that helps build your project. You guide it, review its work, and decide what changes next.
Covered during session
Website Hosting
Deploy your portfolio to the internet with a public URL you can share. Future updates go live automatically, so the site can keep growing after the session.
Free · you create your account
Code Editor
At the end, I’ll show you the editor professionals use when they work directly with code. You do not need to set it up before the session, but it is the next place to go when you’re ready to keep working on your project yourself.
Free · shown at end
Your Domain
Connect a custom domain, like yourname.com, to your live site. It is optional, but it makes your portfolio feel more polished and easier to share.
~$12/year · totally optional
Keep building after?
After the session, you can keep building on your own with an optional paid AI plan. Your code management and hosting stay free either way.
~$20/mo · optional · cancel anytime

Students who want something to show.

College students
A stronger answer than “I took a class.”
You leave with a live portfolio site, a public URL, and practical AI development skills you can talk about in internship conversations, interviews, and on your resume.
High school students
Something concrete for applications.
A portfolio site gives you a place to show your projects, interests, and goals in one link. You build it, deploy it, and leave with a URL you can include on applications, emails, or anywhere you want people to see your work.
Any student
You do not have to be “a tech person.”
You just need to be curious about how building with AI actually works. In one session, you go from idea to live site and understand the steps well enough to keep going. No coding experience needed.
Who you're working with

15+ years building real systems.
Now showing you how.

I'm a software engineer and AI systems builder. For over 15 years I built enterprise software for large financial and biotech companies, including annuity processing platforms used by firms like Fidelity, Merrill Lynch, and Legg Mason, and a core operations system that helped a biotech company grow from a dozen people to a few hundred. I hold a BS in Math and Computer Science and an MBA in Management Information Systems from Johns Hopkins.

My most recent work was building a complete AI-powered workforce management platform from the ground up. I know this workflow because I use it. I teach it because the tools are genuinely accessible now and most people just need someone to sit with them while they build the first real thing.
